Job responsibilities
The Legal Counsel shall have the following responsibilities:
- Develop a good working relationship with the business units and provide general legal support for development of company’s business in China, including contract review and drafting, participating in negotiations, interpreting existing contracts and relevant PRC legislations;
- Analyze of various legal issues requested by the business;
- Provide legal advice on acquisitions and other important financing and commercial transactions in China;
- Drive and participate in compliance processes, trainings and investigations;
- Provide legal advice to resolve commercial disputes, including for example through negotiations, arbitration or litigation. Coordinate relevant legal activities;
- Work with other company affiliates in Asia, Europe and the US to address policy and other commercial issues relating to China; and
- Identify emerging regulatory and policy issues and make appropriate recommendations with reference thereto.
Job requirements
- Strong sense of integrity and belief in integrity as a core value in business;
- More than six years’ experience after abroad education as an associate practicing corporate law at a reputable foreign or Chinese law firm;
- Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment;
- Bachelor of Law degree from a reputable law school in China and a Masters of Law degree or a JD from a reputable law school abroad;
- Bar admission;
- Ability to learn and grow professionally in a challenging and complex business environment;
- International experience and cultural awareness is a plus;
- Native in Chinese and good in both oral and written English.
